After making history this Saturday (6), and becoming the first woman to defend two titles in different divisions at Ultimate, Amanda Nunes deserves to take a vacation. The Brazilian, who has shown herself to be an active champion within the organization, said at a press conference after UFC 250 that she plans to move away from the sport in the coming months to dedicate herself to the birth of her first daughter, Raegan.
“Now, the attention is all to Nina (Ansaroff, companion of the Brazilian). It was all for me, with her pregnant, and there, together with me. I need some time. We need to organize things at home. There’s nothing ready. Probably, only (I’ll be back) next year,” declared the ‘Lioness.’
Even intending to put the athlete’s life in the background for a while, Nunes knows that he will return to the octagon to defend his belts in the future. The athlete, however, does not know who could be the next opponent, since she has been defeating the best athletes in the organization in her fights.
“I’m not thinking about it right now. I have to get some rest. We see more ahead. (Soon) a name will appear. There are a lot of people there,” said the Bahian.
