Hospitalized since the end of April, with pneumonia, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, Khabib’s father, woke up from a coma after undergoing a heart surgery performed at a Moscow hospital (Russia). The information was released by the Russian agency ‘RT Sports’ on Thursday afternoon (14). A close friend of the family talked about the coach’s condition.
“He (Abdulmanap) regained consciousness today (Thursday). He hasn’t spoken yet. Yesterday, he was in a coma after heart surgery,” Ramazan Rabadanov told 360 TV.
Coach and mentor of the UFC lightweight linear champion (up to 70.3kg.), Abdulmanap felt lousy while in the mountains of Dagestan (Russia). After the incident, the trainer was referred to a local hospital and remained under observation for exams. The suspicion was that he had pneumonia.
After confirmation of the illness, Khabib’s father’s condition deteriorated, and he was transferred on a particular plane to a Moscow medical centre. Abdulmanap’s situation worsened when the coach accused of heart problems, which resulted in surgery.
According to ‘RT Sports’, the professionals responsible for the Nurmagomedov case said, last Wednesday (13), that the situation of the coach of 57 was delicate.
Knowing the situation experienced by the Nurmagomedov family, UFC President Dana White, as well as Conor McGregor – Khabib’s great rival – sent messages of support to the Russian in this challenging time.
