After a long time of waiting, the trilogy between Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier already has a date. The two will face off in the UFC 252 stellar fight on August 15.
The match was revealed by ESPN’s Brett Okamoto this Tuesday morning.
It’s booked. Aug. 15. Stipe Miocic (@stipemiocic) vs. Daniel Cormier (@dc_mma). Biggest title fight in history of division, in my IMO. Lifetime bragging rights. Winner is the best heavyweight of his era. Loser is not. Doesn’t get bigger than that. pic.twitter.com/tiy3BB8hbv

Miocic began his second reign as a heavyweight champion, beating Cormier in the rematch at UFC 241. Stipe defended his belt three times in his first reign, crowning himself champion by knocking out Fabricio Werdum at UFC 198. The Croatian is known for his potent striking, with 15 KO / TKO victories.
Cormier won the first fight and was crowned the heavyweight champion after knocking him out at UFC 226. “DC” is known for being a former light heavyweight champion of the organization, after beating Anthony Johnson at UFC 187. Daniel has only two MMA losses, one with Miocic and the other with UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones.
UFC 252 will be held on August 15 at a location to be defined.
