Ultimate President Dana White denied that the long-awaited fight between Paulo Borrachinha and Israel Adesanya is confirmed for UFC 253 on September 19. In a press conference held after the event last Saturday (18), the ‘big boss’ stated that the contracts have not yet been signed and the title dispute continues in negotiations.
“Is not true. I believe that the two did not sign the contract. It is not closed. They were instructed not to comment. (…) If the fight were confirmed, we would be promoting in today’s event”, said the official.
Even with Dana’s denial, the idea that the confrontation is being negotiated for the scheduled date gained more strength after Borrachinha published, on his Twitter account, the news that the fight should happen in September.
“The fight is confirmed, people. In September, I will give a show”, wrote Paulo.
